Term 3 Inquiry Review

As discussed with you yesterday you are due to present your completed Inquiry to me next Friday 18th September. To get a pass grade, the following  must be completed ( remember this is in the Inquiry Booklet issued in week 1.

1. Working through and completing the planning process
2. Working through and completing the Information collection process
3. Working through and completing a report that concludes your findings
4. Working through and completing the display process
5. working through the evaluation process of the inquiry
6. Evaluating your own ability to manage yourself.

All these should be signed off in your booklet or inquiry book or in a shared google doc with me.
As you know the Inquiry had 5 parts.
Part 1 planning : Where you narrowed down your thoughts to 4 key questions.
Part 2 collecting : Where you learnt from different types of information and ways of finding the information. Where you references your work ( wrote down your information sources) and reduced the information you have collected into a manageable form.
Part 3 Reporting : Where you write up a report based on the answers to your key questions.
Part 4 Display: This is where you decide  "Now I have this information what am I going to do with it? (Poster, speech etc)
Part 5 Evaluating  This is where you honestly evaluate your inquiry and what did and did not work and why.

Report Guidelines
INTRODUCTION
You need to hook your audience in. Sat what your 4 key questions are.
KEY QUESTION  1 - 4
For each question you will need to write at least two paragraphs answering your question using your research. A paragraph should be structured using S.E.X.Y
S  - state your main point.
E - Give evidence of your point - how do you know it's true?
X - Explain your point - give details and examples.
Y - Why and how does this point relate to your key question?

Remember - Use SEXY twice for each question. Therefore you will need to find enough research to have two main points for each question.

CONCLUSION
Summarise your findings in one paragraph. Re-iterate your main points from each key question.

REMEMBER: Your display, presentation is worth 40% of your grade. You need to take the information and put it in a fun, interactive, educational way.
